- More About MeI once read a quote that had a truly profound effect on me. I'm going to write it poorly, but it goes something like this; "The truest things in life cannot be expressed. The next truest things are misunderstood. Everything else is what we talk about." This kind of sums it all up for me; on the surface I'm lighthearted, playful, silly, goofy, but deep down I have a soul that actually longs to prove the above quote untrue; to express to someone that which can't be expressed and to not be misunderstood in the process. I don't require seriousness, or manufactured intensity, or anything comparable to those things. I'm a realistic romantic looking for intimacy; a connection with the right person that is open, trusting, respectful and tender. I love playing the fool and I'm very much a Peter Pan at heart, but deep down I'm really longing for a profound connection. Tenderness, honesty, trust, passion, real fondness, actual listening (all the stuff nobody tells you how hard it is to find as you get older). I just want to laugh at the darkness and enjoy the light the best that I can, but do it with someone I can really be myself with; that's when life feels really wonderful. Little things; life is short and we should grab hold of the little joys where we can find them. And I am just too dang tired to fake it, you know?
